2018 British Journal of Haematology, Toxicity Results
Study Purpose: The study investigated the safety and efficacy of TBL-12 in patients with ASMM.
TBL-12: This is a sea cucumber extract that has shown potential antitumor properties in previous research, including anti-angiogenesis, direct tumor cytotoxicity, and inhibition of osteoclastogenesis.
Participants: Twenty patients with ASMM participated in the study. These patients were characterized as being at high risk for disease progression based on established criteria.
Treatment: Patients ingested 2 units of 20 ml of TBL-12 twice per day, for a total of 80 ml per day.
Glioblastoma Drug Development Summit Boston 2025
PMB researchers shared results of pre-clinical evaluations of Immune-12 with industry and academia at the GBM Drug Development Summit. Immune-12 shows promising antitumor effects in various cancers, with ongoing pre-clinical evaluations at the University of North Carolina.
The study aims to evaluate the antitumor potency, characterize the makeup, and determine the mechanisms of Immune-12.
ONCO: Marine-Derived Therapeutics for the Management of Glioblastoma: A Case Series and Comprehensive Review of the Literature
Glioblastoma is a fatal brain tumor, with recurrence and eventual mortality inevitable despite the current standard of care treatments. The identification of novel therapies capable of extending survival is therefore imperative. In this case series, we describe two cases in
which marine nutraceuticals were used in the management of glioblastoma and conferred a survival benefit exceeding the currently recognized median survival time of standard of care treatment.
In the subsequent literature review, we describe the mechanisms underlying the anticancer and immunogenic properties of marine nutraceuticals, which may contribute to their demonstrated
therapeutic benefit.
Effect of TBL-12 on Proliferation, Migration, Invasion, and Apoptosis of Gastric Cancer Cell HGC-27
Gastric cancer is one of the most common gastrointestinal tumors. In China, gastric cancer ranks the top three of morbidity and mortality of malignant tumors, and
exhibits a rising trend over the past 30 years. The percentage of gastric cancer in
China is high among the world. Nowadays, the treatment of gastric cancer mainly relies on surgical resection followed by adjuvant chemotherapy and radiotherapy. However, this treatment did not show satisfactory results. Therefore, the search for safe and effective anti-gastric cancer drugs is of prime importance.
Sea cucumber extract TBL‐12 inhibits prostate cancer
Prostate cancer is a significant health concern globally. Researchers are continuously seeking effective treatments to combat its growth and spread. In this study, the authors investigated the potential of a sea cucumber extract called TBL-12 in inhibiting the progression of prostate cancer.
The researchers conducted experiments using human prostate cancer cells in laboratory settings. They treated these cells with TBL-12 and observed its effects on various aspects of cancer progression, including cell proliferation (growth), migration (movement), and invasion (spread).
